Who Is Fancy Nancy?

Nancy made a razzle-dazzle entrance at birth, the talk of the nursery with her curly locks and communication skills that came through loud and clear. She has been designing creative events with flair ever since. In elementary school Nancy earned the nickname 'Fancy Nancy' on the playground for her adroit tactical planning and execution while wearing buttons and bows. Then it was ballet and other dance forms that captured her imagination. She developed lifelong discipline, precision and endurance to pull off stellar performances and special events, both as a principal dancer and in life and career. Staging events was in her blood. As Vice President of the Student body in college and in law school, she honed her knack for pulling people together for events and study groups. She recognized after one year of contract law that she would rather be a planner than prosecutor. Her career took off as a wedding and social events coordinator for Pebble Beach Resorts and boutique hotels such as Bernardus and Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, California. Early on she learned to choose talented, creative, top quality colleagues and vendors to make the most memorable events possible. She can be trusted to sweat the small details and be a problem solver under pressure, all accomplished in a professional manner that assures her clients they are in good hands with Fancy Nancy. She has been Director of Sales for Michael's Catering on The Monterey Peninsula and Catering and Conference Services Manager for Pebble Beach Resorts. Back to her roots in Southern California, she became a Sales Manager for Palm Springs Convention Center. Until…along came a small event and motherhood. She lives both on the Monterey Peninsula and in La Quinta, California. She welcomes your desire for making your special occasion fancy!

Testimonials

Nancy was such an amazing wedding planner and a lifesaver throughout the wedding planning process. First, I considered myself an organized person but it was nothing compared to how meticulous and thoughtful Nancy was in every aspect of the planning. Her amazing ability to balance courteousness and professionalism with assertiveness when necessary allowed me to really trust her and know that I was in good hands when she handled vendors and the hotel reception contacts.

Second, Nancy's ability to always use good taste and judgment continually impressed me. For example, I loved that she provided her input and offered creative ideas when I needed them but then she was just as good at stepping back and letting me make decisions when it was a personal choice I had to decide. Third, my husband (then fiancée!) was also amazed that she always anticipated my needs. For example, two days before the wedding, I only had two simple tasks to complete (she covered the rest!). However, five minutes before I was supposed to complete them, I called her to say I wasn't done and she was already prepared before I even asked for help. Even at the reception, she was able to help with somewhat rowdy guests when I didn't even notice!

Looking back, my family still comments on how great she was throughout the wedding weekend and I know my husband and I were so relieved to know we didn't have to worry about a thing when it came down to the big day. Everyone complimented us on how beautiful and fun the wedding was but Eric and I both know it was due to all the organization, preparation, professionalism, and good taste that Nancy provided that made it all turn out so great and memorable. If I could do it all over again, the only thing I would change would be to have brought Nancy into the planning earlier!

"Jason and I were married in May of 2003 on the lawn behind the 18th green at Pebble Beach -- our dream wedding! Ours was a destination wedding, as we live in Los Angeles, so our planning time while in Pebble was precious. Luckily, we found ourselves in the ever-capable hands of Nancy Williams. Nancy is an amazing wedding coordinator whose professionalism, kindness, and organization shine through. She was active in every aspect of our planning - all the way down to to pinning corsages on our groomsmen - and we quickly learned that she is honest, fun and a great communicator. Throughout the day of our ceremony, Nancy was on hand to help and keep things running smoothly, despite a rainstorm! From the food to the flowers to the timing of events, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. We have Nancy to thank for making our wedding day unforgettable. She is simply a wonderful wedding coordinator!"

Nancy,

I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it was to work with you. You took us from despair to delight in a few months and we are grateful. Though Lee did not help with wedding plans, he did hear about everything. He, too, knows the confidence I had in you. Thank you for your kindness and your organization throughout. The result was a beautiful wedding.
